Arakurayama Sengen Shrine & Park: Iconic Mt. Fuji Views

Highlights
Arakurayama Sengen Shrine and Chureito Pagoda are world-famous for their breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, especially when framed by cherry blossoms in spring or vibrant foliage in autumn. The five-storied Chureito Pagoda, built as a peace memorial, and the shrine’s striking red torii gate create one of Japan’s most iconic landscapes. Enjoy panoramic vistas from the observation deck after climbing the 398 “Sakuya Hime” steps. The park is beautiful year-round, with over 600 cherry trees, seasonal flowers, and night illuminations.
 

Access from Saiko (Fujikawaguchiko Town)

  • By Car: About 30–40 minutes. Parking is available but limited, especially during cherry blossom season and weekends.

  • By Public Transport:

    1. Take a bus or taxi to Kawaguchiko Station.

    2. From Kawaguchiko Station, take the Fujikyu Railway to Shimoyoshida Station (about 13 minutes, runs hourly).

    3. From Shimoyoshida Station, it’s a 10-minute walk to the shrine and park entrance.
      Alternatively, a taxi from Kawaguchiko Station takes about 15 minutes.

Access:
By Car: About 30 minutes from Saiko.
By Public Transport: Bus or taxi from Kawaguchiko Station (about 20–30 minutes). There is a paid shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station.
Lift Ticket Prices (2024/25):
Weekdays: Adult ¥4,000, Child (elementary school) ¥3,000
Weekends/Holidays: Adult ¥4,500, Child ¥3,500
Rental Equipment:
Ski or snowboard set: ¥4,500/day
Wear (jacket & pants): ¥4,000/day

7 courses for all levels, including beginner slopes and a family/kids park

2. Snow Town Yeti
Access:
By Car: About 1 hour from Saiko.
By Public Transport: Train from Kawaguchiko Station to Gotemba Station, then a bus to Snow Town Yeti (about 1 hour from Gotemba Station).
Lift Ticket Prices (2024/25):
Weekdays: Adult ¥4,300, Child (3–12 years) ¥3,300
Weekends/Holidays: Adult ¥5,200, Child ¥4,000
Rental Equipment:
Ski or snowboard set: about ¥4,000/day
Wear: about ¥3,000/day
Features:
4 main runs, mostly for beginners and intermediates
Snow play area for children, night skiing available

3. Misaka Snow & Sports (Misaka Ski Resort)
Access:
By Car: About 40 minutes from Saiko.
By Public Transport: Bus or taxi from Kawaguchiko Station to Misaka Snow & Sports (about 40 minutes total).
Lift Ticket Prices (2024/25):
Adults: ¥2,000 (1-day ticket)
Children: ¥1,500 (1-day ticket)
